Areas of Expertise
- Glacier Dynamics Group
Michalea is a Ph.D. student in Earth Sciences working in the Glacier Dynamics group. She received her B.S. in Geography from Ohio State, where her initial interest in atmospheric science broadened to include climate science and the impacts of climate change on the cryosphere. She then completed her M.S. at the University of Delaware, studying the springtime radiative effect of clouds on Arctic sea ice. She is interested in the application of remote sensing techniques to monitor changes in the polar climate system, with her current research seeking to understand variability in Greenland outlet glacier velocity. Michalea also has academic interests relating to atmospheric science and severe weather, renewable energy, and teaching.
