Mentors and judges are critical to making Climathon a success.
Judges can include community members, technical experts, decision makers, members of businesses and non-profits, and artists/designers/writers. The total commitment is between 2 and 4 hours and will all take place via an online platform called Discord. Therefore, you can mentor and judge from the comfort of your own home! Mentors
Mentors will be asked to be available for two or three hours on Friday evening and/or Saturday to offer support to student teams on demand. Teams can drop into a virtual space if and when they need assistance. Mentors will be asked the times they are available over the two days. Mentors can also participate in midpoint check-ins on Saturday, January 28th at 11:30 am to offer feedback to teams based on a brief presentation of their progress.

Judges
Judges will hear virtual student presentations, ask questions, and score student teams based on a rubric (provided below). Awards will be given to teams based on judges scoring using the rubric. Training sessions will be provided to judges to go over the event, technology, rubric, and judging process. Judges will be matched with one of the three challenges.

Other Information
Both mentors and judges are welcome, but not required, to attend the opening and closing ceremonies. Mentors may also serve as judges for this year's event.
