Global River Radar Altimetry Time Series

Global River Radar Altimetry Time Series (GRRATS) was developed here at OSU by our group in conjunction with Prof CK Shum’s group. The dataset was developed as part of a NASA MEASURES grant led by UCLA. Dataset development was led by Steve Coss in our group, and heavily involved Yuchan Yi and Qi Guo in Prof Shum’s group. You can read more about GRRATS here.

Example SWOT River Data Products

The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission will launch in 2021, and will measure surface water (especially rivers and lakes), globally. In oder to help future users to better understand SWOT data, our group has produced an example data product over six months of the Sacramento River. This example data product was constructed from a detailed hydraulic simulation, and run through similar processing steps as will be used in the SWOT mission. You can read more about this dataset here.

A new climatology of North American mountain snow from regional climate model simulations

We created a new climatological estimate of North American mountain snow water equivalent (SWE) using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) regional climate model. You can read more about this dataset here.

AirSWOT data on the Willamette River

We used a dataset of Ka-band interferometric synthetic aperture radar (inSAR) measurements of water surface elevations over the Willamette River in Oregon, USA to test discharge algorithms which are under development for the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission. You can read more about this dataset here.
