Rae Mercier Award

About the Award

The Rae Mercier Service Award was named in honor of Rae Mercier, who was recognized for her exceptional service to the Byrd Polar Research Center for 30 years. She was the first recipient of the award in 1999, and she played a foundational role in the Center’s operations and culture.  The award continues to be given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding dedication and service to the Byrd Center and The Ohio State University and is usually bestowed upon in late career or end of an individual's service to Byrd/OSU.
