- Increase Ice Core Storage Capacity
- Enhance Research Lab Space
This program provides fellowships at The Ohio State University for research on topics relevant to:
- Polar and alpine environments
- Global climate change
Supports undergraduate research, including:
- Travel and/or registration costs
- Laboratory supplies, publication expenses, and future fieldwork
Provides annual scholarship awards to graduate students studying atmospheric science, specializing in:
- Severe weather
- Polar meteorology
- Polar climatology
Provides support to scholars studying the history of polar exploration by providing:
- Stipend and travel
- Other scholarly support
This fund, in memory of our former colleague and glaciologist Roberto Filippi, supports the study of modern and past atmospheric pollution using high altitude and polar ice cores.
Support Byrd Center education and outreach activities, including:
- Group tours and visits
- Events and activities hosted at the Byrd Center
For support of the State Climate Office of Ohio at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center, including:
- Stipend and travel
- Research equipment and upgrades
Supports education and outreach activities of the United States Polar Rock Repository.
Support elementary student engagement in LEGO League activities sponsored by the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center
Supports global climate change research, includes all aspects of ongoing research at Byrd Polar Research Center.
Supports the Ice Core Paleoclimate Research Group's scientific research, including:
- Ice core drilling and analyses
- Student participation in the research
- Long term ice core storage
Supports Byrd Center:
- Research needs
- Hosted workshops/conferences
- Polar Library acquisitions
Donations will support the OSU Polar Archival Program, and may include:
- Material acquisitions
- Preservation treatments
- Public programming support
Support of the Third Pole Environment Office at the OSU Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.
This fund will support scholarly and research activities of the Byrd Center's Polar Meteorology Group, including:
- Staff travel
- Student support and supplies
Supports the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center Glacier Environmental Change Group research.
Support of the research being performed by the Glacier Dynamics Research Group at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.
Supports the Byrd Center's Water Cycle Research Group, including:
- Stipend and travel
- Research equipment and upgrades
