Byrd Center - July Public Tour

Each tour lasts approximately 70 minutes and includes:

• Presentation on the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.
• Description of the research conducted and brief history of the Center as an OSU institution.
• Tour of the facility, including a look at field equipment, ice core facilities, and the polar rock repository.

Meet in the Auditorium (Room 240) on the second floor of Scott Hall. You will need to enter Scott Hall through Door #2 (each door is labeled) on the east side of the building and ascend the steps near the statue of Admiral Byrd.

The Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center is located at 1090 Carmack Road, Columbus, OH 43210, but most GPS systems take you closer to our building and parking lots if you enter 1070 Carmack Road.

Detailed parking and arrival information, including maps, is available here. It is critical that you pay for parking in the lots or you wil receive an expensive ticket. Please read the information carefully!

Tours are a service of the Byrd Center facilitated by paid undergraduate interns. To maintain this service, guests are encouraged to contribute $5 per adult and $3 per youth attending a tour to our Outreach Fund.
