While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Ohio State's 2020 Environmental Professionals Network and Sustainability Institute’s Signature Event highlights the 50th Anniversary of the first Earth Day, which occurs on April 22, 2020.  The first Earth Day, April 22, 1970, was a tipping point in the attention paid to our global environment and a precursor to many critical environmental advances since that time.

The 50th Anniversary of Earth Day is an opportunity to look back at the challenges faced in 1970, to evaluate where we are and what has been accomplished, and to look ahead as we confront the precarious situation, we face with climate change. While we have much to be proud of with respect to environmental advances, our greatest challenges may lie ahead.

Join this moderated, online program to hear from leading environmental and sustainability Ohio State faculty and students, and to learn of a special announcement on Ohio State’s action on climate change.
