
Meet Dr. Mark Carey, Associate Professor of History at the University of Oregon. Dr. Carey specializes in environmental history and history of science, and his research focuses on a variety of topics including: climate change, glacier-society interactions, natural disasters, mountaineering, water, and health. He is currently working on a National Science Foundation funded project titled Glaciers and Glaciology: How Nature, Field Research, and Societal Forces Shape the Earth Sciences and is the author of In the Shadow of Melting Glaciers: Climate Change and Andean Society.
