The public tour lasts approximately one and half hours and includes:
- Presentation on the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center
- Description of the research conducted and brief history of the center as an OSU institution
- Tour of the facility, including a look at field equipment, the ice core freezer & laboratory, and polar rock repository.
