Actiniarian sea anemones are benthic invertebrates that are key members of the fauna of polar marine communities. The biology and evolutionary history of these resilient, diverse animals sheds light into the key physiological stressors, biological opportunities, and biogeographic connections between both the poles and the surrounding high temperate and deepwater ecosystems.
