This comprehensive workshop will address the topic of glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA). The event seeks to gather 80-100 researchers at varying career stages to explore the latest findings in GIA observations, analysis, and modeling. Over five days, the workshop will feature oral and poster sessions, focusing on themes such as ice sheet and glacier history, mass balance, future projections, and their impacts on global and local scales. Participants will also discuss the dynamic interactions within the Earth system, spurred by ice sheet evolution. The program includes networking opportunities, a field trip to study local geological features, and specialized workshops on GIA modeling and observational constraints.
Registration is set to open in February 2025 alongside virtual participation options to enhance accessibility.
