Speakers
Karina Peggau: Senior Sustainability Planner - MORPC
Karina’s role is to reduce the effects of climate change on people and make central Ohio a more sustainable place. As a planner, she develops guides and programs that help direct land use and improve communities. She is currently working on two projects. In the first project, she is working with a team of local government and non-profit groups to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in central Ohio. In the second project, she is a trusted resource that can help communities with their own planning projects.
James Roubal: Natural Resources Planner at Quileute Tribe
James helps promote conservation of natural resources for the Quileute tribe, located in northwest Washington, through researching, writing, and coordinating planning efforts, including writing grants for natural resources in the Quileute tribe's usual and accustomed area (U&A). James also work alongside QNR's program managers on a variety of needs, such as assisting with permitting, meetings, policy, grant eligibility and opportunities, and natural resource management.
Alex McCarthy: Director at Delaware County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
Alex is responsible for making sure that Delaware county is prepared to help first responders, residents, business owners, and local officials in the event that they experience a disaster. Alex and his team does this by developing emergency plans, purchasing various resources through grants, and working with their cities, villages, and townships as they recover after disasters.
