This two-part event begins with a screening of the Emmy-nominated documentary A Century After Nanook, followed by a Q&A session with the film’s producers.
The documentary is focused on the drastic environmental and cultural changes that have occurred over the last 100 years in the Inuit village of Inukjuak, the location where Robert Flaherty filmed Nanook of the North from 1920-1921. Much of the documentary was produced by members of the community, including interviews and snapshots of daily life.
- Tickets must be acquired for free entry. These can be found at Film/Video | Wexner Center for the Arts beginning November 18th.
- For interested audiences, Dr. French will also be delivering a seminar prior to the screening in the Department of Anthropology's Smith Lab, Room 4012, from 3:30-5:00pm. Registration is not required.
