Seminar Title: You Are Where You Live: Connecting Geochemistry and Health

Abstract:

While geology and health may not have historically seemed the most natural pair, it is a field that has been rapidly gaining widespread interest in recent years.  My research is specifically interested in human exposures to trace elements from their environments, how those exposures are incorporated into the human body, and their ultimate effects on human health. This talk with cover recent work done at OSU relating to human bone composition, as well as trace element exposures and pregnancy.
