Examining the Patterns of Urbanization and Morphological Evolution of Sargodha City
Description: Sargodha, established in 1903 as one of Pakistan’s few planned cities, has experienced major changes in its urban extent and internal land use. My research uses satellite imagery and GIS analysis from 1973 to 2023 to assess how residential, commercial, public, and open spaces have shifted over time. It also models future urban growth to show how the city is likely to continue expanding.

Subsurface Cryospheres in Retreat: High-Resolution Ice Core Records from the Alpine–Dinaric Transition Zone
Description: Slovenia’s alpine–karst ice caves preserve the last remnants of the cryosphere in the southeastern Alps, serving as natural archives of Holocene and modern climate variability. This research combines high-resolution ice coring, LiDAR mapping, and isotopic–geochemical analyses with continuous monitoring of temperature, precipitation, and wind velocity to assess how cave microclimates respond to global warming. By integrating physical and geochemical datasets, the study reveals how subsurface ice records and contemporary processes together reflect broader cryospheric change, positioning ice caves as key natural observatories for understanding climate evolution in a rapidly warming world.
