Join us for a talk with Dr. In-Young Yeo on the role of geospatial technologies in addressing pressing environmental challenges in today's era of climate crisis. This event will explore recent advancements in geospatial tools and their integration with numerical models to monitor and analyze Earth's systems. Using real-world examples from Australia and the US, the presentation will highlight how spatial data and place-based solutions are applied to tackle critical water issues and foster sustainability.
In-Young Yeo is an Associate Professor of Civil, Surveying, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Newcastle (UON), Australia. She received her PhD from the Ohio State University and taught at the University of Maryland and Cornell University before joining UoN. In-Young's research focuses on modeling and analyzing Earth system processes using geospatial technologies and numerical models, focusing on water resources and interrelated terrestrial processes across scales. She strives to understand human-environment interactions from a spatial perspective better and provide actionable, science-informed knowledge to support decision-making.
