Grace's project investigates whether microbial communities preserved in old Ohio glacial sediments can be used to identify the origins and ages of past ice sheet deposits. By integrating microbial signatures with data from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, it aims to improve reconstructions of glacial history and deepen understanding of how ice sheets respond to climate change. More accurate reconstructions of past glacial environments can help refine predictions of how ice sheets may respond to future climate change.
