The Byrd Center proudly celebrates the achievements of several of its members who have received notable honors in their respective fields. These recognitions highlight their dedication to research, scholarship, and practical application, underscoring their commitment to excelling in their field and advancing science.
The Award recipients are as follows:
- Matthew Sullivan, Professor, Microbiology - 2023 AAAS Fellow & Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to France
- Jim Stagge, Assistant Professor, Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering - 2024 College of Engineering Lumley Research Award
- Marta Jarzyna, Assistant Professor, Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology - 2023-2024 ASC Early-Career Faculty Excellence Award
- Jason Cervenec, Education and Outreach Director - 2024 Community Engaged Practitioner Award
- Jackie Beck, Ph.D. Student, Dept. of Geography - 2023-2024 College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student Award for Teaching Excellence
- Austin Weber, Ph.D. Candidate, School of Earth Sciences - 2024 Michael Johnson Graduate Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Candidates
