We congratulate Kara Lamantia and Forrest Schoessow, who defended their Ph.D. dissertations successfully.

Kara defended her dissertation on May 7, 2025. Her research, titled "Interpreting Past and Present Climate Changes in Peruvian Glaciers from the Holocene to the Present Day," was conducted through the School of Earth Sciences and the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center's Ice Core Paleoclimatology research group.

Forrest completed his defense on April 28, 2025. His dissertation, "Dynamics of Modern Deglaciation Across Earth's Highest Tropical Mountains," was carried out in the Department of Geography and the Byrd Center's Glacier Environmental Change research group.
