Fluid Earth: Open-source Visualization of Weather and Climate Data

Fluid Earth (FE) is a web visualization tool that allows users to view evolving weather and climate patterns and was developed by the Byrd Center. A recently published GIS Lounge article entitled Fluid Earth: Open-source visualization of weather and climate data, shares an overview of FE, including access to its open-source code. This article for GIS and web visualization professionals was written by a Byrd Center team led by Michael Gravina and Michael Zhan and includes information about the engine and database underpinning Fluid Earth. Mimi Cai, Adelyn Arens and Jason Cervenec are co-authors.
