Demie Huffman

Graduate Student

Demie Huffman is currently a master’s student in her first year of the Environmental Science Graduate Program here at Ohio State. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry with creative writing from Goucher College, and it wasn’t until a study abroad experience her senior year that she realized her interest in environmental science, climate climate, and sustainable development. Her research in Barker Lab focuses on exploring trends in black carbon deposition on the Greenland ice sheet and its effects on accelerated glacier melt, with the ultimate goal of relating her findings to mitigation strategies and climate change policy.
