Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Elphidiella arctica 1
  • Adult specimen, side view.
  • Collected: summer 1991, RV Akademik Karpinski, SW Kara Sea off Novaya Zemlya, 72 mwd, modern mud.
  • Rose Bengal stained

Remarks:

Inhabits high-energy, full-saline arctic environments at ~20-200 mwd; commonly found attached. Juvenile specimens not observed; we suspect this form could be overgrown Elphidium subarcticum.
