Brady is a Canadian microbiologist and astrobiologist interested in how microorganisms survive in glaciers and ice sheets, some of the most extreme environments on Earth.  Studying these microorganisms will help us predict the consequences of their release due to global warming-induced glacial melt and can inform the search for life on other planetary bodies such as Mars and the icy moons of the outer solar system.

Brady has performed fieldwork all over the world including the High Arctic, Antarctica and lava tubes in the Western United States.  He received his Ph.D. in Microbiology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
