About the Event
On Wednesday June 23 at 8:00 PM Eastern, the Byrd Center and the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be co-hosting a virtual tour of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica. Join us for a special tour of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica and wander through the halls of the research station, traverse the Antarctic ice sheet to visit a field site, and stand at the ceremonial South Pole during this virtual adventure! This tour will feature Karla Heidelberg and Margaret Knuth from NSF Office of Polar Programs, Michalea King from the University of Washington, and Santiago de la Peña from the Byrd Center.
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or ASL interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Karina Peggau at peggau.1@osu.edu (email) or 614-688-8279 (phone). Requests made by June 16 will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
