Byrd Center High School Intern Program

Program Overview

The Byrd Center partners with The Ohio State University Libraries and donors to place Central Ohio youth into paid summer science internships at the Byrd Center. Each intern will complete 20-24 hours per week over ~10 weeks and will be assigned an internship supervisor as well as a mentor who will lead weekly soft skill building workshops.  The primary goals for the internship are to introduce high school students in underserved communities with professional mentoring to provide them with real work experience that can be included on their resume as well as expose them to work in a professional setting, an academic library, and a college campus.
