Savannah Stearmer is a student assistant at the Byrd Center and a senior majoring in English with a concentration in Writing, Rhetoric, and Literacy, whose work was recently published in the Ohio State Alumni Magazine. After interviewing and writing a story about Susannah Casey, the Byrd Center's flag creator, Savannah submitted her article to the magazine. They tasked her with writing a brand-new essay about the experience of connecting with an Ohio State alum. The print version of this article is now available to read in the Spring 2023 print edition of the magazine and will be released online in May. Savannah also wrote a piece earlier this year titled Who is Henry Brecher?, about the most senior member at the Center, Henry Brecher; she is also one of the 2022 recipients of the Garry McKenzie & Henry Brecher Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship.
