Georgie Shockey, founder and co-chair of the Byrd Center Advisory Board, a director of the Ohio State University Foundation Board, Industry Advisory Board Member for the Association of Healthcare Foodservice and a principal in Ruck-Shockey Associates, Inc, was honored last month during a reception as one of the recipients of the Gerlach Award for outstanding volunteer leadership. 

Georgie has been a vocal advocate of the Byrd Center, helping raise awareness for the need to renovate the ice core facility to preserve ice cores.  The Byrd Center is grateful for all of the support from Georgie and the entire Byrd Advisory Board.

The Gerlach award was named in honor of the late John B. "Bernie" Gerlach Sr., an active and dedicated supporter of the Ohio State University.
