Possibly Format as Different Media Push: Project announcement: Lonnie Thompson's "A 20,000 Year Ice Core-Derived Record of Paleoclimate and Environmental Variability in the Tropical Andes: Nevado Huascaran, Cordillera Blanca, Peru", funded by the NSF, will support new ice coring in the Andes, including the highest core to be collected to date ( 6,756 meters!).
