Tom ChudleyLeverhulme research fellow at Durham University in the United Kingdom and former research associate at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at The Ohio State University, spoke to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) about how researchers conduct field measurements to determine how much ice is disappearing from the world's glaciers.

Chudley is also the lead author of a study published in the journal Nature Communications,  revealing the unprecedented melt of Greenland's Steenstrup Glacier. Other authors included Ian Howat, ENGIE-Axium Professor, Distinguished University Scholar at the School of Earth Sciences and director of the Byrd Center; Michalea King at Polar Science Center, University of Washington and a former Byrd Center Ph.D. student and Adelade Negrete, a current Byrd Center research technician. Visit the unprecedented melt of Greenland's Steenstrup news story to read more.
