A new study lead by ETH Zurich and the University of Toulouse used satellite data from ArcticDEM and REMA, two projects headed by the Byrd Center's Glacier Dynamics Research Group, to show that glacier melting is accelerating across the globe. According to Byrd Center ice core paleoclimate researcher Dr. Lonnie Thompson, "this paints an alarming picture."
