Congratulations to Sara Johnson, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University, this year’s awardee of the Toracinta Graduate Scholarship in Atmospheric Science. Johnson is advised by Professor Steven Quiring and is researching how communities can build flood resilience.

There were nine applications for the award. Many thanks to the evaluation committee consisting of Professor Ellen Mosley-Thompson, Professor Jialin Lin, and Dr. Dan Steinhoff (a past winner) for their efforts. The Scholarship is awarded every two years; the next call for applications will be in Fall 2025.
