Following Dr. Wilson's talk, we will host multiple "flash talks" highlighting climate resilience partnerships in Central Ohio.Dr. Aaron Wilson is an Assistant Professor, Agricultural Weather and Climate Field Specialist with the Department of Extension in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. He is also the State Climatologist and principal research scientist at the Byrd Polar & Climate Research Center. Aaron’s research and engagement focuses on observed changes in temperature and precipitation over recent decades, from a global overview to local changes in Ohio. Aaron believes in building strong relationships and collaborations that help meet the goals of our land grant university and partners across the region by engaging in an open dialog on the science of climate change and bridging expertise to improve decision making and effective climate change action.Please note: you may attend this session virtually or in person. Climate Lessons for Our Cities: Global Perspectives on Climate Change in Urban Environments

This spring, the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis (CURA) and the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center are hosting a series of presentations from international scholars and practitioners who are experts in climate related topics and their impacts on urban areas.

Dr. Aaron Wilson will provide an overview of the Fifth National Climate Assessment, with particular emphasis on the ramifications for the Midwest United States. Following Dr. Wilson's talk, we will host multiple "flash talks" highlighting climate resilience partnerships in Central Ohio.
